Phoenix Farm is located on half of an 18 acre ALR property on Salt Spring Island, BC. Our little garden of eden is a place of learning, sharing, and growing together.
We are blessed with several acres of mature Apple orchards with quite a few cherries as well as a few plums and pears sprinkled in.
Dozens of other fruit trees have been planted by us over the past 11 years - including figs, mulberries, nuts, and even lemon trees!
Our West Coast Climate is perfectly suited for berries. Our berry patches are home to hundreds of Blueberry plants, raspberries, blackberries, kiwis, grapes, haskaps, aronia, seabuckthorn, hawthorn and more
We rely on volunteers to help maintain the garden and assist with the upkeep of the property. Hundreds of amazing people have lent a hand over the years to make this land what it is now! If you're interested in giving back and making a difference in your community, we would love to have you join us!
Our wood burning sauna is located right next to our swimming pond. Both are available for members to enjoy anytime!
The Temple Dome is a community space that is open for members to use personally, and for hosting events and workshops. Do you have an idea for a class, workshop or retreat? Get in touch!
We are open to new long term members.
In a world where land prices are out of reach for most and taking care of land is too much for any one person, joining our community is a great way to live and thrive on a piece of paradise and share the expense, work and fun!
Our beautiful flocks of ducks are a mix of Welsh Harlequins, Pekins, and a few other breeds. They roam the property freely and enjoy the lower pond that is not used for water supply or swimming. They lay delicious eggs and provide ethical meat.
Farm days are the glue of our community. Every Friday, we gather for a gratitude circle to start the day off, and then go to work together on whatever needs to be done - long term residents, work traders, and sometimes visitors alike! We usually share a simple meal at Lunchtime as well.
We usually meet for a fun and informal potluck dinner on Thursday evenings. Everyone brings something, we may crack some of our farm grown cider and juice, and just get together for a good time.
Our engineer designed composting outhouses are up to all health regulations and turn human waste into a valuable resource while keeping the ground water clean.
If you have any questions or would like to get involved with our community, please don't hesitate to contact us. We would love to hear from you!
