How things work at Phoenix Forest Gardens

How it Works

Phoenix Forest Gardens is membership-style living on a regenerative farm on Salt Spring Island. It’s not a standard rental — it’s a home plus a shared land project we steward together.

What you get

  • A beautiful, insulated dome home for long-term living - or a site for our own tiny home
  • Access to shared spaces (yoga / dance / creative practice + treatment space)
  • A strong “food security” lifestyle with a seasonal share of what we grow, including:
    • Year-round greens from our aeroponic project
    • Vegetables in season + winter squash, garlic, preserves, dried and frozen food stored
    • Eggs + occasional duck meat
    • Fruit harvests: and abundance of apples, cherries, blueberries and many other fruits
(Harvests vary year to year, as all farms do.)

What you contribute

Membership is a combination of:

  • Monthly financial contribution (varies by living space) that supports shared operating costs, gardening and everyday supplies, repairs, tools, and infrastructure as well as contribution towards the real life building cost of the dome homes (unless you bring a tiny home)
  • Participation in stewardship and shared responsibilities

Our weekly rhythm

  • Friday Farm Days: a fun, community work party where we tackle the week’s projects together (gardens, orchard, harvest, repairs, upkeep, etc.) - Includes a gratitude circle and Lunch
  • Tuesday Community Potluck: a weekly meal to connect, share food, and stay in rhythm together

We value a balance of privacy + community — you can be independent and still feel part of something real.

How to join

  1. Explore the website and make sure the membership model resonates
  2. Explore Available Living Spaces
  3. Fill out the New Member Questionnaire
  4. We’ll reach out to schedule a call and (when possible) an in-person visit
  5. If you’re craving land connection, food abundance, and a real long-term place to build with others, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Garden

Our garden is a beautiful, thriving oasis that's home to a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We use only organic methods to grow our produce, and we're always experimenting with new techniques and crops.

Shared Spaces

These include our 850 sqft. Temple Dome that is available for yoga, dance, workshops and classes. Members can use it for free, we ask for a small contribution for visitors from off the farm or events where people pay admission.
